New Computer Chips

Most of us have looked at videos on the internet and know their quality is not as good as what you can find on your television set.

But that will soon be changing. Intel is launching a new family of microprocessor chips dubbed PEN-REN "Penryn". The processors would be used in the new generation of computers that compress video. The company says these new chips will ultimately provide video that is almost as good as what's on a high-definition television signal. The processor is also faster and uses less energy than its predecessors. The chips will be available in computers during the first quarter of 2008.
