Monkey Cloning

First it was cows, mice, horses, cats, dogs and sheep -- and now it's monkeys.

A team of researchers at the Oregon National Primate Research Center have reportedly created dozens of cloned embryos from a 10-year old monkey. This marks the first time that a cloned embryo has been created from an adult primate. Some scientists say the discovery could lead to exciting medical breakthroughs, such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease. However, cloning also raises serious ethical issues and has caused genetic defects in some animals.
