Waiting in checkout lines at the grocery store may soon be a thing of the past.
Shoppers in a few grocery stores along the East coast will soon be able to make their shopping lists at home on a grocery stores' web site. When they get to the supermarket, they'll be able to swipe a card into a console on their shopping cart. Once the shopper is finished, everything on their shopping list can be scanned and paid for without even stepping into checkout line. The service will be paid for by advertisements on a screen in the shopping cart and the technology is powered by Microsoft Corporation.
