A tree fell in the middle of Woodville Highway, causing an accident involving two cars. High winds pushed the tree over power lines just north of the Leon county line. The Florida Highway Patrol says there were only minor injuries and no one was sent to the hospital.
Toye Coxe, a driver of one of the cars saw the tree as it fell on her car. She said, "It was coming close and I thought, wow the wind is pretty strong and then I realized it was coming closer and that's when I thought, my god it's going to come on top of me and I just clinched the wheel and closed my eyes as tight as I could and said, oh god, oh god."
As of 5:15 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, authorities said they would have the road completely open between five and five thirty. And city utilities said power in that area should be back on within the next hour and a half.
