A monstrous space robot made a trip with the Shuttle Endeavor on its liftoff early Tuesday morning.
These are photos of Dextre, a Canadian Space Robot who stands 12 feet tall, has 11-foot arms, a shoulder span of nearly 8 feet and weighs in at 3,400 pounds. Dextre is equipped with a tool holster and is designed to assist spacewalking astronauts. He will ultimately take over some of the dangerous outdoor work they perform. Dextre will be assembled during a spacewalk and will then be attached to the outside of the space station.
