The mercury dipped to 26 degrees at the Tallahassee Regional Airport early Tuesday morning. This breaks the old record of 28 degrees set back in 1968.

Temperatures could dip to near the freezing mark again (mainly in outlying areas) on Wednesday morning. Most areas should experience a frost.

Much warmer temperatures are expected to return later this week. Highs are forecast to reach the lower 80s this weekend.
