A New Fuel Source For Planes

European engineers ahve flown an aircraft using hydrogen and fuel cells according to the Boeing Company. Airlines have been struggling to keep costs down for their passengers in the face of rising fuel prices and are feeling the pressure from environmentalists to pollute less. Boeing says hydrogen is still expensive to power aircraft, it does not emit pollutants. The company hopes to use this new technology in smaller planes and unmanned aircraft in the coming years, but it may be quite awhile before it powers commercial aircraft.
