Erin Forms In the Gulf of Mexico

Erin is moving toward the west-northwest over the western Gulf of Mexico. It is expected to make landfall some time on Thursday along the lower or middle Texas Gulf coast. Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect for portions of the Texas and Mexican coastlines.

More torrential rain is predicted in water-logged Texas, with amounts between 3 and 5 inches. Isolated areas could receive up to 8 inches.

No impact from Erin is expected in north Florida or south Georgia.
