NOAA Weather Radio Recall

Oregon Scientific is recalling about 66,000 NOAA Weather Radios.

The company says the radios may fail to receive alert signals in certain areas of the country.

Meteorologists say these radios are one of the few ways people can be notified of severe weather or civil emergencies at any time of the day or night.

Paul Duval, the Meteorologist-In-Charge of the Tallahassee National Weather Service says, "The recall has to do with some of the alarms not working properly. That's a very important thing. People should be aware of that. If they have a weather radio, they need to know what radios have been recalled. They need to check and make sure theirs is not one of those."

Models WR103NX, WR108, WRB308, WRB308J are the radios that may be defective.

Consumers should call Oregon Scientific at (800) 203-4921 during regular business hours for a free replacement.
