A few heavy showers Monday evening will lead to some drier conditions overnight. We still have a slight chance of showers for extreme southern Georgia. We could also see some areas of patchy fog in the morning hours. Overnight low temperatures will be in the Mid 50's to near 60°.

Christmas day will feature some warm temperatures with highs in the low 70's. We also have a possibility of seeing severe weather in the afternoon and evening hours leading to the overnight period.

A cold front will develop in the western Gulf of Mexico early Christmas morning. That will quickly move East in the direction of south Georgia and north Florida. The best chance of severe weather from this system will be in portions of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

Right now, we are looking at a potential severe weather threat between 8pm Christmas night and 10am Wednesday morning. We can expect some gusty winds over 60mph in some stronger thunderstorms. There is also the possibility of brief isolated tornadoes. We'll have a much better idea of the impacts and timing of the storm on Christmas morning.

In the mean time, stay weather aware! Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages for up to the minute information throughout Christmas night.
