A tropical wave now located 200 miles SW of Jamaica has a high chance of forming into a tropical depression today.
An Air Force Reserve Unit aircraft will be flying into the disturbance later today to investigate.
Convection around the center is becoming stronger, and pressures at the surface are falling...all good signs of a strengthening tropical system.
The east coast of Belize, Nicaragua, Honduras, and the Yucatan Peninsula are in the direct path of this system.
Our area WILL NOT be impacted.
Also in the tropics, disturbances are rolling off the west African coast. None look to be too organized, but most will need to be watched as the Hurricane Season enters its busiest time (late August-September).
