The river stage reported Friday afternoon for the Ochlocknee River 5 miles from Thomasville was 15.27 feet. Flood stage is 15 feet, and the river is expected to crest at 17.4 feet Saturday afternoon.
The Ochlockonee River is near the flood stage of 25 feet for areas near Havana and is expected to crest at just over 26 feet. Levels are expected to crest near 21 feet, just below flood stage at the Ochlockonee River near Lake Talquin.
The Apalachicola River near Blountstown is near its flood stage of 15 feet and is expected to crest Saturday at 17.4 feet. A Flood Watch has been issued for the Apalachicola River near Blountstown.
Use extreme caution near these rivers. Only 6 inches of water can knock you off your feet. Remember that driving through water-covered roadways is very dangerous, only 2 feet of water can float most vehicles.
