2007 Hurricane Activity Could Set A Record

Another record will probably soon be set for hurricanes and tropical storms.

But this time it will be a record low. According to a researcher at Florida State University, 2007 would be the least active hurricane year in the Northern Hemisphere since 1983, if the season ended today. Tropical activity in the Atlantic Ocean alone has been mixed. To date, there have been 14 named storms, which is above the normal of 10. However, many of those named storms have been weaker-than-average. The Atlantic Hurricane Season ends November 30.
