The administrators of NOAA and FEMA along with the lead forecaster, Dr. Gerry Bell, will release the 2008 Hurricane Season Outlook on Thursday, May 22 at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa.

NOAA hurricane hunter aircraft will serve as the backdrop and pilots and science crew members will be on hand.

The agencies will release how many named tropical storms, hurricanes and major hurricanes they anticipate this upcoming season.

WCTV will report this information once the forecast is released.

Dr. William Gray's team at the Colorado State University is already forecasting a busy 2008 hurricane season in its forecast released back in April.
