THOMAS COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) -- Thomas County Schools has named the new school superintendent set to succeed Dr. Dusty Kornegay next summer.

Current Associate Superintendent Dr. Lisa Williams will take over the position when Dr. Kornegay retires on June 1, 2018.

TCS officials say Williams joined the Thomas County School System ten years ago, after serving in the Decatur School System for seven years.

Kornegay plans to complete the 2017-2018 school year as superintendent and will include Williams in all personnel and budgeting decisions, TCS says.
