VALDOSTA, Ga. (WCTV) -- The Valdosta Police Department has arrested two men after officers say they stole and crashed a truck.

VPD says around 2:50 a.m. Thursday they received a call from the victim, who said he heard his car start from inside his residence and proceeded to follow the truck with a second vehicle as he called 911.

According to the police report, the victim told police prior to their arrival that the truck crashed in the 700 block of Habersham Road. He also told police that four different subjects exited the truck and began to run.

Officials say multiple officers responded to the area, and found two subjects - 20-year-old Deonte Mincey and 18-year-old Kendrick Thomas - hiding beneath the back patio of a private residence.

VPD says the two other subjects are still being sought.

Authorities found stolen property inside of the stolen truck, and after the incident, multiple people contacted authorities to report that their cars had been broken into.

Mincey and Thomas have both been charged with motor vehicle theft and three counts of theft by entering auto, both of which are felonies.
