Valdosta Police identify suspect in shooting at Ponderosa Drive

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WCTV) -- The Valdosta Police Department has identified a suspect in connection to a shooting in the 1000 block of Ponderosa Drive in June.

VPD is looking for 26-year-old Kenneth Diamond Fountain. Fountain is wanted on charges of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Authorities describe Fountain as an African-American male, approximately 5'11" in height and 155 pounds. VPD says Fountain should be considered armed and dangerous.

Detectives ask if anyone knows of Fountain's whereabouts to call 911.

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WCTV) -- The Valdosta Police Department is looking for a suspect in a weekend shooting that left one person in critical condition.

At 11:24 p.m. Saturday, Valdosta Police Officers responded to reports of a gunshot victim in the 1000 block of Ponderosa Drive.

Officers found a a person at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The victim was last listed in critical but stable condition.

Officers secured the crime scene and began making contact with witnesses. Valdosta Police Person’s Crimes Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians from the Valdosta/Lowndes Regional Crime Laboratory were called to assist in the investigation.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and detectives are currently reviewing evidence and witness accounts from the scene.

VPD Lieutenant Adam Bembry said in a press release, "Detectives in this case are looking at two possible motives. If anyone has further information regarding this incident, they are asked to contact the Valdosta Police Department."
