During this period, they can review and change this part of their health care plan and switch between private health plans and traditional Medicare.

Seniors will make their decision based on a number of factors.

"Well, it's according to what I'm going to have to pay and what they will pay for my medication," said Nell Riggins, who spent her afternoon at the Valdosta Senior Citizens Center.

Open enrollment runs through December 31.
