School Days Extended for Valdosta City Schools
The school day for Valdosta City School students just got longer.

Ten minutes of extra instructional time has been added to the school day for kids in the city school system.. and the new schedule started Monday.
Valdosta High now releases students at 2:40 p.m., the middle schools at 3:20 p.m., and elementary students now get out at 3:40 p.m.
The added classroom time will make up for the two days that the school year will end early, which will be Friday May 21 instead of Tuesday the 25.
This is due to the Valdosta Board of Education's decision to furlough teachers and faculty, under new legislation mandated by Governor Perdue on January 25.
Graduation will now be held on Friday May 21, instead of Friday May 28 as originally planned.

When the school officials go to college do they lose their freaking common sense? An elementary child getting out at 3:20 p.m.??????? I'm wiped out by 2:00p.m. -- they don't think these little ones aren't toast by then too? They've been up since daybreak because their parents probably have to be at work. And now you are making them leave even later than high school kids? Fire all the school board, do it now.
