Knight becomes fourth Democrat to seek US Senate seat

ATLANTA (AP) Rand Knight, an environmental scientist and
businessman, became the fourth Democrat to qualify for the United
States Senate race from Georgia.
Knight, 36, is a political novice but said he would bring energy
to the job.
``I don't believe this is a coronation. We're not picking a king
or a queen here,'' Knight said. ``We're actually electing whoever
has the most fight to go up there and the tools in their pocket to
go up against (Republican incumbent) Saxby Chambliss.''
Knight will first have to face DeKalb County Chief Executive
Officer Vernon Jones, former state lawmaker and human resources
commissioner Jim Martin and ex-television journalist Dale Cardwell
in a July 15 primary.
