The South Georgia Intelligence Network puts on this event twice a year at the Plaza Restaurant in Thomasville.

This year's appreciation breakfast attracted law enforcement agencies, city and county leaders, prosecutors and judges.

A guest speaker was there to to discuss the child advocacy program, but it was a very special surprise guest that really got every ones attention.

"We were all surprised and he got a standing ovation when Deputy Chad Griffin walked in. Chad has been in rehabilitation in Atlanta for the past 5 months. He was injured on Christmas morning in an accident," said Thomas County Sheriff R. Carlton Powell.

Local officials say this event is a great way for different law enforcement agencies to get on the same page and discuss different ways to combat crime.
