Hundreds of excited students, faculty and family members piled into the Thomasville Municipal Auditorium, for Thomas University's 53rd Commencement Ceremony.
Students graduating with associate, bachelor and master's degrees all received a diploma.
And while it wasn't always an easy road, many graduates say the hard work and dedication was well worth it.
"I've been looking forward to this day for a very long time being that I'm the first graduate from both sides of my family to graduate from college it's amazing," said Social Work graduate Rosalind Mickens.
"It's been a great experience I have a senior in High School now so this is something for her to look upon and hopefully gives her encouragement to continue, further her education beyond high school," said Gwen Williams, who plans on starting her Master's degree in the near future.
Many of the graduates say they're looking forward to using the tools they've learned in school, to help better the community they live in.
