Coastal Carolina beats Georgia Tech

ATLANTA (AP) _ David Sapplet had two home runs and four RBIs and
Coastal Carolina held off a late rally to beat Georgia Tech 10-to-9
on Saturday.
Coastal Carolina jumped on Yellow Jackets stater Eddie Burns for
five runs in the second inning, including Sapplet's three-run
homer. Sapplet hit a solo homer in the fourth to give the
Chanticleers a 7-to-1 lead.
The Yellow Jackets scored five runs in the sixth to cut the lead
to one run. But Scott Woodard's homer and a two-run home run by
Dock Doyle pushed Coastal Carolina's lead to 10-to-6 in the eighth.
Georgia Tech tried to rally in the ninth with three runs, but
couldn't pull any closer.
Coastal Carolina is 38-and-10 on the season. Georgia Tech's
record is 32-and-14.
