VSU Golf Tied for 7th

AUSTIN, Texas – Valdosta State shot a six-over 290 Tuesday for a
two-round total of 587 (+19) to tie for seventh at the NCAA South
Regional, being held at the par-71, 6,805-yard Grey Rock Golf Course.

West Florida tallied a five-under 279 Tuesday to stand at 558 (-10) to
claim first after the first two rounds. Nova Southeastern finished the
day six strokes back with a 564 (-4) after shooting a four-under 280
while North Alabama (286 / +2) was third at 571 (+7). Florida Southern
shot a 14-over 298 to claim fourth at 573 (+9) followed by Barry (292 /
+8) and Florida Tech (286 / +2) tied for fifth at 586 (+17). Lynn (293
/ +9) matched the Blazers at 587.

VSU’s Brent Witcher shot a one-over 72 on Tuesday and stands 10th in
the event with a 143 (+1) while Nathaniel Balanis (71 / E) is tied for
16th with a three-over 145. Cole Willis (72 / +1) is tied for 30th at
148 (+6) followed by Jason Flowers (75 / +4) in 35th at (151 / +9) and
Chad Smith (75 / +4) tied for 40th at 154 (+12).

The tournament concludes with a single round beginning at 8:30 a.m. on
Wednesday.
