DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (AP) _ A Georgia woman's attempt to gain custody of the son she had with a teenager she later married has been settled. But details of the agreement were not immediately available.
Attorneys for Lisa Clark Gonzalez and the teen, who are now married, reached a deal with lawyers for Angela Perkins, who takes care of the couple's 2-year-old son. But the attorneys and the couple refused to provide details of the agreement.
It will be filed with the Douglas County Superior Court.
Lisa Clark was 37 when she married the 15-year-old in a probate judge's driveway in November 2005. She was soon arrested and charged with sexually molesting a minor.
The case forced lawmakers to tighten Georgia's marriage laws and
resulted in two prison sentences for Gonzalez.
She was sentenced to nine months after pleading guilty to statutory rape and was sentenced to two more years in prison after pleading guilty to aiding the teen's flight out of the state in February 2006.
