VSU Finishes Eighth at NCAA Regional

AUSTIN, Texas – Valdosta State shot a final round 298 (+14) to finish
eighth at the NCAA South Regional with a three-round total of 885 (+33)
at the par-71, 6,805-yard Gray Rock Golf Course Wednesday.

West Florida claimed the team title with a 12-under 840 while Nova
Southeastern was four strokes back with a 848 (-8). Florida Southern
finished third with a four-over 856 while North Alabama claimed fourth
with an 858 (+6). Barry tallied a fifth-place finish with a 17-over 869
and followed by Lynn (874 / +22) and Florida Tech (879 / +27).

Nate Balanis paced the Blazers with a five-over 218 to finish tied for
23rd in the tournament while Brent Witcher was two strokes behind and
tied for 30th. Jason Flowers, who paced VSU with an even-par 71 on
Wednesday, finished 33rd at 222 (+9) while Cole Willis tied for 35th at
225 (+12) and Chad Smith 45th at 234 (+21).
