Three Killed in Accident in Georgia

WINDER, Ga. (AP) Three people are dead after a fiery crash early Tuesday in Barrow County in northeast Georgia.

Winder police say a Dodge Neon crossed a double yellow line on Georgia 11 as it tried to pass another vehicle.

Authorities say the Dodge hit a couple in a Mercury Grand Marquis head-on, killing them.

A passenger in the Dodge also died.

The 18-year-old driver of the Dodge and a passenger in the couple's car have been taken to area hospitals.

No charges have been filed at this point.

The accident remains under investigation.

The Winder Police Department referred questions about the accident to spokesman Dennis Dorsey, who was not immediately available.
