Grady County School Superintendent Dr. Tommy Pharis has recommended current assistant principal David McCurry for the Cairo High School principal position.

McCurry has been a Grady County employee for eight years and has worked as Assistant Principal at the high school for the last four years.

The search for a new principal began when longtime leader Tim Helms took a position with a school in Houston County.

The Grady County Board of Education will hear Dr. Pharis' recommendation and vote on the matter at Tuesdays meeting.
