Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast for Thursday afternoon and evening. The storms are expected to persist into Friday.
A few of the storms may briefly become severe. The severe risk is mainly along and just west of the Apalachicola River on Thursday. On Friday, the severe weather risk shifts east and may include areas around Tallahassee and Thomasville.
The main severe weather threat appears to be damaging winds, but a tornado or two is not out of the question.
Wednesday night, the Storm Prediction Center issued a forecast that included a slight risk for severe weather along the Apalachicola River.
