COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) _ U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss called criticism of the recently adopted Farm Bill _ who say it favors rich farmers ``ridiculous.''
Chambliss said he's warned President Bush against vetoing the bill because it would alienate voters in states that have supported him.
Chambliss said if voters in those states get turned off to Republicans it will hurt presumptive Republican nominee John McCain.
Chambliss spoke Friday at the kickoff of the Georgia Republican Party's two-day convention where delegates will be selected to represent the state at the national convention in Minneapolis-Saint Paul.
