SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) _ Officials at Fort Gordon say they are working to repair problems with leaky plumbing and mold at the Augusta Army post's 40-year-old barracks where 4,000 trainees live.

Fort Gordon public works chief Curt Oglesby said Friday the barracks problems are similar to those at Fort Bragg, N.C., that prompted the Army to reshuffle $250 million toward emergency repairs at eight posts. Fort Gordon will receive $49 million.

The Army has also slated $6.2 million for barracks upgrades at Fort Stewart, which needs to replace outdated heating and air conditioning systems.
