Florida Wildfire Update

Parts of Florida are still experiencing fiery and smokey conditions as firefighters work to control the wildfires, but at least an increase in humidity is helping their efforts.

A total of about 39 thousand-500 acres are burning across the state today, up about 500 acres from yesterday.

The majority of fires are in Glades County around Lake Okeechobee and on the coast in Brevard County.

The State Division of Forestry spokesman says fires in the Brevard County area were 75 percent contained Sunday, up about 5 percent from Saturday.
