WASHINGTON (AP) _ Linder, 65, of Duluth, declined medical assistance from Capitol Hill police at Bullfeathers eatery near the Capitol Thursday evening.
Linder's spokesman, Derick Corbett, told several media outlets that the Republican congressman was having dinner with his son when he stepped on something, twisted his knee and collapsed.
Corbett did not respond to messages Monday from The Associated Press.
A Capitol Hill Police spokeswoman said officers responded to a call to help a "sick person'' around 6 p.m. but made no report because they didn't take any action.
Linder is in his eighth term representing Georgia's 7th District.
