VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State Athletic Department has named Chuck Carson to the position of Ticket and Game Operations Manager according to an announcement made by VSU Director of Athletics Herb Reinhard Friday.
Carson comes to Valdosta State from Trinity Christian School in Dublin, Ga., where he had served as the Director of Athletics the past two years. While at Trinity, Carson administered the Athletic Department budget for the Crusaders’ 15 varsity and 24 sub-varsity programs. He joined the school in 2004 as an instructor while also serving as the school’s boy’s basketball and golf coach.
“We are pleased to have Chuck join our team,” said Reinhard in making the announcement. “He has a solid background in athletics and had a great deal of responsibility at Trinity Christian. Our ticketing and game operations position is very important to our success and Chuck is well suited to lead us in that area.”
Prior to Trinity Christian, Carson was the assistant men’s basketball coach at San Diego Mesa Community College in San Diego, Calif. while also earning a Master’s in Education Administration from nearby Point Loma Nazarene University. He also spent a year as a teacher while also coaching basketball and golf at Sherwood Christian Academy in Albany, Ga. after beginning his professional career by serving as the boy’s basketball and golf coach at Southland Academy in Americus, Ga. while attending nearby Georgia Southwestern.
