The Echols' County Sheriff's Office says late Sunday night, an argument broke out between three men on Lisa Circle off Tince Rd. in Echols County.
Echols County Sheriff Randy Courson says a call came in around 10:28 of people honking, yelling and cussing.
A deputy was on call at the time, but arrived at the scene at 10:58.
After a deputy arrived, 67-year-old Billy Corbett took out a concealed gun and fired at 36-year-old David Coody Jr. and Chad Wiggins, killing them both.
According to law enforcement, the deputy then shot Corbett, killing him.
Some family and friends say deputies could have done more to prevent the shooting.
The deputy involved in the shooting is on paid leave while the Georgia Bureau of Investigation looks into the case.
