The third annual Big Dog Poker Run was held in Colquitt County on Saturday.

Tons of riders hit the streets picking up a card for their poker hand from each of their destinations.

Door prizes were offered along with food and music, with all the proceeds benefiting the Moultrie, Colquitt County Humane Society.

"We work off of donations we have a little bit of assistance from the city and the county but most of the funding we have is from donations. And this is a good way to do it you know we bring in quite a good bit of money having this annual event," said Humane Society Director Don Flowers.

Flowers says Saturdays event was also a success as several animals were adopted out to new owners.

The Humane Society of Moultrie, Colquitt County is also asking for any other donations residents can give. They are accepting drink cans as well as new and used cell phone donations at the shelter.
