Last night, an engineering firm told the city council what caused the water woes.

They say the city's water has high levels of certain minerals that gives the fluid a bad taste, a rotten egg smell, and an odd color.

The engineering firm introduced solutions like expensive additions to the water plant.

But they say the cheapest solution is buying water from Valdosta.

Valdosta City Manager Larry Hanson says, "We certainly want to help a neighbor in a neighboring city, we believe all governments have a responsibility to work with one another."

Remerton Mayor Cornelius Holsendolph says, "We need to get more numbers and more information before we take a final vote."

Valdosta officials say the city could provide water for Remerton in four to six months.
