Friday, the department launched it's new line of T-3 personal mobility vehicles that will allow officers to patrol areas that they would normally walk, like parks, shopping centers, and the downtown streets.

The vehicles can reach speeds of up to 20 miles per hour and don't require any gas to operate.

"Our officers have already been asked to get out of the car more. They're trying to park the car more we like everyone else can't afford to keep running the way we've been running so we've been looking for ways to save money on gas and still be out there still be mobile." Captain Mark Scott of Thomasville Police Department.

The three wheeled devices are 100% electric and only take around 2 hours to charge.
