Corey Surrency is a five star wide receiver recruit who has yet to play a down for the Florida State Seminoles, yet he expects great things for himself already.
Surrency says, "Not trying to be cocky, dude, but I plan on getting 1200 yards and six to eight touchdowns and go."
Don't be surprised if he reaches those goals. Believe it or not, his talents first surfaced while playing flag football. He is happy to be in Tallahassee, but he just wishes someone were still here to see his happiness.
Surrency says, "I wish my mom was here to enjoy this time with be, but inside, I'm really hurting because i can't even tell my mom what an experience it is to be here. It hurts."
His mother Yvonne Cason lost her battle with breast cancer and she was buried this past Saturday, but Corey just keeps pushing and his teammates take notice.
FSU fullback Marcus Sims says, "Corey is a cool dude. I mean I think he's going to fit in real well. He works hard. He just came out here and has a good attitude and ha can just contribute to the team."
Corey will continue bonding with his teammates, but none will have him as focused as mom.
He adds, "My mom was like my best friend, my buddy, whatever, and I just can't believe it so I'm living, everything I do at Florida State will be about her."
With that sort of motivation, it will be hard for teams to stop him from achieving his goals.
