A suspended Clinch County judge on trial for extortion and more is found guilty on two of the three charges against her.
A federal jury in Valdosta reached that verdict today in the case of 54-year old Linda Peterson.
She was found guilty of perjury and making false statements - but not guilty of conspiracy to commit extortion. Prosecutors accused the former Associate Magistrate Judge of telling a defendant he could pay money to avoid a jail sentence.
Each of the convictions carries a maximum 5-year prison sentence.
Peterson will be sentenced sometime within the next 60 days.
