Fewer than a third of Georgia's registered voters are expected to cast ballots in Tuesday's primary election, dominated by local races and a statewide contest for the US Senate.
In Thomas County, elections officials say there was a small turnout of early voters last week and they expect a low turnout for Tuesday's election as well.
"Usually the turnout for absentee and advanced voting is an indication for the turnout for election day so we're looking for a very low turnout," said Thomas County Chief Deputy Registrar Liza Ouzts.
Election officials want to remind voters to bring a photo ID to the polls.
Precincts will be open from 7 am to 7 pm.
