Authorities say 62-year-old Gifford Flynt died around 10 o'clock Saturday morning after his crop duster crashed into Fred B. Hands Pecan Field off Highway 93 in Pelham, Georgia.

The Mitchell County Sheriff says, the FAA came and picked up the plane Saturday and the case has been turned over to the agency for further investigation.

The sheriff says, one of his investigators told him the plane looked like it had caught fire at some point.

The cause of the crash is still unknown.
