Moultrie, GA - October 16, 2012 - It's the largest Agricultural Expo East of the Mississippi. It's the 35th Annual Sunbelt Expo and it brings a huge boost to the South Georgia economy.
A recent Economic Survey at the University of Georgia showed the Expo pumped more than $14 million dollars into the surrounding community. That is for the entire 20 county area in South West Georgia.
More than 150,000 people are expected to pack the expo over these three days. But there will also be over 1,200 vendors with multiple employees. They will be spending money on hotels, restaurants and gas.
"I think one of the things people don't realize is that people who do trade shows do this for a living," said Gina McDonald. "So they're basically moving from town to town where ever their next trade show is and they need to have those basic necessities to do their job."
The expo will be open again Wednesday from 8:30 am to 5 pm. And again Thursday till 4 pm.
