Busted for Speeding, But Meth and Marijuana Mean Jail Time

Lowndes County, GA - November 2, 2012 - On Friday morning, shortly after midnight a deputy with the Interstate Criminal Enforcement unit of the Sheriff’s Office stopped a Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling south on Interstate 75 for a speeding violation.

During the conversation with the driver and the passenger of the truck, the deputy noticed that both were extremely nervous. While talking with the passenger, Chris Calvin Tucker he stated that he had a small smoking pipe in his pocket. During a further search of Tucker, the deputy located a small quantity of methamphetamine in his pocket. The deputy obtained permission to conduct a search of the vehicle and in doing so located another quantity of methamphetamine and approximately 2 grams of marijuana. In all, approximately 5 grams of methamphetamine were recovered.

During additional investigation by the deputy, Chris Tucker claimed ownership of both substances and was subsequently arrested. Tucker was transported to the Lowndes County Jail where he remains while awaiting an arraignment hearing this afternoon.
