-- Brooks County, Ga. -- May 14, 2012 --

Around 2:30 in the morning on Saturday the Brooks County Sheriff's Office came to 315 Cedar Hill Drive in Brooks County. They found William and Barbara Starling. They also found 32 marijuana plants.

That's not all they found. Dozens of bottles of prescription pills and 9 guns were in the home. Sheriff's deputies also confiscated about $10,000 dollars in cash.

Brooks County Sheriff Mike Dewey said "It is a large bust for Brooks County being the number of plants and quantity of pills. And the money that was found in there shows that they were operating a business of selling illegal narcotics."

One neighbor described Mr. Starling as a nice guy and was surprised by the news. Others are glad he's behind bars.

Eyewitness News reporter Eames Yates asked one neighbor, Carol Bailey, if she was thankful drugs were off the street. Carol said "oh my gosh! I am very thankful for it. I wish there was some way we were able to take all drugs off the street, all illegal drugs."

Sheriff Dewey went on to say "we always want to recieve tips from citizens. They see more than we do."

The Starlings were charged with manufacturing marijuana and intent to distribute. They are being held at the Brooks County Jail.
