Fans Welcome VSU National Champion Football Team Home

Valdosta, GA - December 16, 2012

A crowd of Blazer fans gathered outside the Athletic Field House Sunday to welcome home their new National Champion college football team.

VSU beat the Winston-Salem Rams 35 to 7 for the Division 2 national title. And these folks came out to great them as they got off the buses from Florence, Alabama.

But one of the charter buses broke down near Tifton, Georgia because of a oil pressure problem. They had to squeeze all the players and gear between the other bus and a fan charter bus that was not far behind. Finally, the rolled in well past dark and over two hours late.

Yet despite the trouble getting home, you'd never know it from the excitement in the crowd. And the National Champions trophy they get to hoist for the third time.
