Tallahassee, Florida - July 4, 2012 - Noon -

This 4th of July, a lot of families plan celebrate with fireworks, but animal advocates warn it's a celebration your pets likely won't enjoy.

The American Pyrotechnic Association wants to warn families that animals are often frightened by the sounds and sights of fireworks.
They say keep pets secure by keeping them indoors away from loud and sudden noises that could cause animals to 1) get hurt or 2) possibly run away. Take precautions to keep them safe.

Also, check the labels and instructions on fireworks to make sure they're safe and legal.
