Former Archibold Memorial Hospital Pres. and CEO Sentenced for Medicaid Fraud

The former president and CEO of Archibold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville was sentenced in federal court in Albany, Georgia.

Ken Beverly was sentenced to 24 months in prison. Beverly was also fined $50,000 and $600, $100 per 6 counts, for a total of $50,600. Beverly will also get 3 years probation. The defense plans to file a motion for release pending appeal.

The sentencing of the former president and CEO of Archibold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville is underway in federal court in Albany.

Ken Beverly was convicted in 2010 on six felony counts related to medicaid fraud and obstruction. The prosecution is arguing that Archibold was a victim as well as the United States because the process spent 2 and half million on legal fees. The defense is arguing that patients were still being treated and received no worse treatment of Beverly actions. Beverly resigned from Archbold Memorial Hospital in 2008 and walked away with more than 6 million in compensation benefits. Beverly was convicted of falsifying documents to get 9 million worth of medicaid benefits for the hospital. He faces a max of 20 years in federal prison.
