Valdosta, GA - November 10, 2012

Local residents raised money to support the fight against Childhood Cancer Saturday.

This is the annual Bazaar for "Hugs of Hope". "Hugs of Hope" started six years ago as a small project when a girl named Elizabeth was diagnosed with Leukemia. She passed away in 2010, but first Elizabeth left specific instructions for the future of the program.

"Hugs Of Hope is our local non-profit organization that helps parents who have a child who has cancer," said Melanie Pitts, founder and Elizabeth's Mother. "We help them with everything from finances to just the emotional support."

Organizers say 100% of the proceeds from the event will go to help those families.
