Valdosta, Ga. -- September 26, 2012 --
Valdosta resident Joseph Alvarez said "the referees are a worst case scenario of a multi-billion dollar business."
Another Valdosta resident, Brad Shealy, said "I have Green Bay in my fantasy football leage so obviously I wasn't too happy about it."
The National Football League and the official referees association have been in a dispute over better salaries and retirement benefits. Which has caused replacement ref's to call games since the start of the season. Those ref's have come under harsh criticism... which boiled over on Monday night's game between the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks.
Alvarez went on to say "if my team was in the Packers situation I'd be pretty upset. I mean it's not the end of the world but it's a game that the team fought hard for 60 minutes and got on the wrong side of the end without being on the wrong side of the end. I mean they should have won the game bottom line."
Shealy added "in every sport you're going to have human errors. It's just how bad they are and how obvious they were."
The NFL and Referees Association are currently negotiating and the official ref's could be back on the field this Sunday 9/30. Many feel it couldn't come soon enough.
